Moonlight Pale, 2D Survival Horror Adds Console Versions

Moonlight Pale is now coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch alongside its previously announced PC version via Steam. The hand-drawn 2D survival horror game from Blue Lily and LightWitch is planned for release between Q4 2026 and Q1 2027, with full Steam Deck support for the PC version. The console versions were unlocked after the game’s Kickstarter campaign surpassed its $47,000 stretch goal for ports.

The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions will also receive physical editions in both standard and “Super Eclipse” formats. The standard edition includes the base game, a manual, and a photograph of Juliette and Lily, while the Super Eclipse edition adds a mini art book, magnetic keychain, enamel pin, acrylic diorama, and special box. Kickstarter backers can support the campaign to receive a copy of the game, with additional rewards including an art book, soundtrack, sticker set, and acrylic keychain set.

Moonlight Pale is set in a late 1800s female seminary and follows Juliette, a student at St. Birgitta’s. After seeing the ghost of her dead cat, she follows it into an abandoned building hidden deep in the school gardens. From there, she must move through eerie and strangely familiar corridors, face monsters and apparitions, and try to help the other girls trapped inside with her.

The gameplay is built around classic survival horror structure, with careful exploration, inventory-based puzzles, and moments where players must decide when to fight or avoid danger. The game uses two core states: “Search,” focused on item collection and puzzle solving, and “Caution,” a slower and quieter mode that allows Juliette to dodge, block, and use melee combat. Its influences include Silent Hill, Signalis, Rule of Rose, and horror games made with RPG Maker.

The visual style is one of the project’s defining features, with every asset illustrated, colored, and animated by Ao Clover. The original soundtrack is composed by Arai Tasuku, and all character dialogue will be fully voiced. At launch, Moonlight Pale will include English, Japanese, and Spanish text support.
