NBA The Run gets a June 9 release date on PS5, Xbox Series and PC

NBA The Run is set to launch on June 9, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. Developed and published by Play by Play Studios, it is a fast-paced online 3v3 street basketball game built around short matches and knockout-style competition.

Its core mode is the Run the World Tournament, a four-round format that sends teams to streetball courts around the world before ending with a finals game on one of four dedicated championship courts. That structure gives the game a tournament frame instead of a simple exhibition-match setup.

Three modes will be available at launch: Knockout Squads, where you team up with other players; Knockout Solos, where you build your own three-player lineup and face other teams online; and Knockout Friends, a private tournament mode that also supports AI matches and lobbies of up to 48 players. The Steam page also confirms support for English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish (Spain), with full audio support marked only where the asterisk applies.

Two editions are planned for launch: Standard and Deluxe. The Deluxe Edition adds three unlocked playable characters and 1,000 CRED, while the base edition includes the game itself. NBA The Run is also the first project from Play by Play Studios, an independent team made up of developers with experience on major sports franchises, which helps frame the game as a more deliberate attempt at an arcade-style basketball release.

For players interested in arcade sports games, the combination of NBA talent, streetball presentation, and rollback netcode is the main detail to watch ahead of release.
