Okko The Exiled will launch on September 30, 2026 for PC via Steam and GOG, while PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions will follow in early 2027. The console editions will be available both digitally and at physical retail. Developed by Frozen Flame Interactive and published by eastasiasoft, the side-scrolling action adventure will cost €14.99 for the standard edition and €19.99 for the Deluxe Edition with a digital soundtrack, with a 10 percent discount during the first two weeks.
The adventure follows Okko across Kutala, a land consumed by demons. After one thousand years of isolation, he takes up the Mighty Fang and sets out to defeat the region’s lords one by one, destroy Demon Lord Yalda and reconnect his secluded world with the heavens. An ancient oath drives the story, while the journey itself unfolds through 2D stages filled with platforming, hazards, enemies and oversized bosses.
Combat is built around linking actions together rather than relying on a single attack. Okko can launch enemies, stomp them, bounce them around, shoot, deflect incoming attacks and chain moves into larger combos. Focus Mode consumes Heart Energy to strengthen correctly timed attacks, increasing damage and breaking enemy shields. Progression also lets players improve stats and unlock abilities that expand both combat and exploration options.
Between dangerous areas, The Old Throne works as a place to rest and meet allies. Characters can sell useful items, provide information, feed Okko and point toward secrets buried beneath the hub. Collecting Deevols also unlocks Underground challenge stages designed to test both combat mastery and precision platforming, adding optional trials beyond the main journey.
The entire adventure uses vibrant pixel art supported by hand-drawn 2D animation, combining a retro presentation with an emphasis on fluid movement.
