Roguecraft DX launches on Steam this September

Roguecraft DX will launch for PC via Steam on September 10, 2026. Badger Punch Games’ roguelike draws from the golden age of isometric adventure games, but its structure is designed to welcome modern players as well as genre veterans. A demo is already available, giving players an early look at the dungeon delves waiting in the depths of Mordecoom.

The game sends explorers into murky underground spaces filled with treasure, ancient horrors, hidden rooms and unusually angry chickens. Its visual identity is built around handcrafted isometric pixel art, while the original Amiga mod soundtrack reinforces the connection to older adventure games. The official website for Roguecraft DX frames Mordecoom as a dirty, dangerous dungeon packed with rewards, where every descent has to balance greed, risk and survival.

Each dungeon delve is expected to last around 30 to 40 minutes, giving the game a more approachable rhythm than many time-heavy roguelikes. The core remains built around procedural dungeons, shifting danger and careful resource decisions, with potions to use, secrets to uncover and lumbering monsters to duel before Mordecoom claims another adventurer.

Players can choose between three classes, each carrying its own difficulty level and playstyle. The Wizard is fragile but dangerous, the Warrior relies on straightforward strength, and the Rogue uses slippery movement and teleportation to survive. That class split turns character choice into more than a cosmetic decision, letting players tune the challenge before a run even begins.

Roguecraft DX will also include Chicken Run and Endless Dungeon modes. Chicken Run turns poultry into power, asking players to hunt golden eggs and grow from a 2 HP chicken into the eldritch Chicklathohep. Endless Dungeon is built for score chasing, pushing players to see how far they can survive before the creatures of Mordecoom bring the run to an end. Between old-school atmosphere, shorter runs and extra modes, Roguecraft DX is aiming for a compact roguelike loop with plenty of replay value.
