Sanitarium Enhanced will launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG. Ziggurat Interactive is bringing the 1998 psychological horror adventure originally developed by DreamForge Intertainment to modern platforms with controller support, quality-of-life updates and new bonus material.

The story begins with a disturbing awakening. The protagonist finds himself disfigured and amnesiac inside a decaying asylum, with no clear memory of who he is or how he got there. Escaping the cell is only the first step into a chain of nightmare worlds, from a village of deformed children to a town of insectoid mutations and a circus of the grotesque.
Sanitarium’s strength comes from the way it uses point-and-click adventure design to explore unease, fractured identity and psychological mystery. Enhanced keeps that foundation intact while making the game easier to return to, adding widescreen support during gameplay, an optional hint mode for finding interactable objects, Steam Deck optimizations, legacy bug fixes and a movement speed toggle.
For players who never experienced the original, this version offers a more accessible way into one of the stranger narrative horror games of the late 1990s. More details are available on the official website for Sanitarium Enhanced.
