SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed will launch on September 3, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam. Developed by Fair Play Labs and published by tinyBuild, the sequel brings back the competitive platforming formula introduced by the original SpeedRunners in 2013, while expanding local and online races to support up to eight players. The objective remains easy to understand but difficult to master: outrun every rival, exploit the fastest routes, and stay on-screen as slower competitors are eliminated.

Races take place across colorful tracks inspired by a retrofuturistic superhero utopia from the 1960s. Players choose from a cast of eccentric returning and new characters before entering courses where the available space gradually closes around the leaders. Anyone pushed too far behind disappears from the screen and is removed from the race, making every burst of speed, missed jump, and blocked route a possible turning point.
Movement combines running, jumping, sliding, wall jumps, and grappling hook swings. Learning each map will be essential for finding booster pads, obstacles, grapple-friendly ceilings, and levers that can open or close pathways. Offensive pick-ups add another layer through missiles, traps, and freezing rays. A golden grappling hook can also pull faster runners backward, creating opportunities to reverse the order during the final moments of a round.
SpeedRunners 2 is designed to remain approachable for newcomers while preserving a high skill ceiling for competitive players. Beyond immediate matches, it will include tournaments, leaderboards, custom challenges, and private lobbies for groups looking for a more relaxed experience. The sequel also introduces vibrant high-definition visuals and improved netcode, updating the presentation and online foundation without abandoning the movement depth and fast competitive rhythm that defined the original game.
