Sony Interactive Entertainment and Firesprite have announced Until Dawn 2 for PlayStation 5. The horror sequel is set for 2027 and is being developed as a standalone experience, with a new cast of ghost hunters stranded on an abandoned tropical island where supernatural events quickly turn real.

The game keeps the choice-driven structure of the series. Decisions still determine who survives, and relationships inside the group now play a bigger role in how the story branches. Dr. Hill also returns, once again played by Peter Stormare.
The setup follows a crew chasing online fame, only to run into a threat that is no longer staged and no longer under control. Firesprite says the game will focus on character drama, tough choices and branching outcomes, and more information on gameplay, story and the full cast will arrive in the coming months.
Until Dawn 2 does not continue the original story directly, but instead starts a new chapter with a fresh cast and a new location. No price, editions or language details have been announced.
