Xenoblade Chronicles Brings the Trilogy to Switch 2

Nintendo and Monolith Soft have announced Nintendo Switch 2 editions of the Xenoblade Chronicles games, starting with Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, which is available now digitally through Nintendo eShop. The digital version is priced at $69.99, while players who already own the Switch version can purchase an Upgrade Pack for $9.99. A physical edition will launch on July 30, also priced at $69.99.

The schedule continues with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, due digitally on July 30 and physically on October 1. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will follow on December 3, with both digital and physical versions launching the same day. That gives Nintendo a full 2026 rollout for the main Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy on Switch 2, with technical upgrades and new content attached to each entry.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition brings Shulk’s journey across the Bionis and Mechonis to 4K resolution in TV mode, Full HD in handheld mode, and 60 frames per second, with smoother and sharper cutscenes. The package includes all additions and improvements from the Switch version of Definitive Edition, including the Future Connected story, which has also been enhanced. New content includes the Ether Jet, a high-speed vehicle usable in both the main game and Future Connected, along with time trial races, party member races, dedicated riding equipment, and fully voiced Heart-to-Heart conversations for the first time.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition follows Rex and Pyra through a world of Titans lost in a sea of clouds, also upgraded to 4K in TV mode, Full HD in handheld mode, and 60 frames per second. This version adds a new rare Blade with its own quest, a new action battle mode that lets players directly control Blades sent on mercenary missions, and new equipment designs for Pyra and Mythra.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition brings Noah and Mio’s journey through the war between Keves and Agnus to the same enhanced visual standard. Its new content includes a recruitable Hero with an additional quest, defensive battles against waves of enemies, and newly voiced event scenes. Together, the three editions are designed to make the trilogy sharper, smoother, and more complete on Nintendo Switch 2.
