Nacon and Teyon have released a new developer diary for Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish, a first-person action RPG built for single-player. It is set in the World of Darkness, the same universe as Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse, and it leans on a simple but harsh premise: you play as an ordinary human with no supernatural powers, while the monsters you face can overwhelm you fast.

That premise shapes the rest of the game’s systems. Players will be able to create a male or female character, customize the look in depth, and choose attributes and skills based on the Hunter: The Reckoning rulebook. The game also supports different ways through its objectives, including stealth, direct combat, conversation, and firearms, with choices carrying consequences that affect the end of the campaign. That means preparation matters as much as reflexes, because every encounter can be solved in more than one way, but not every choice will lead to the same outcome.
Exploration also plays a clear role. The campaign includes open areas to search, crime scenes to investigate, and people to question for information about the supernatural threat. You will also work with other hunters who provide support in combat and investigation, while their personal stories unfold over time and can even lead to romance. The setup suggests a game that mixes detective work, party dynamics, and survival pressure instead of relying only on fast-paced shooting.
Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is due out for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC via Steam, and Microsoft Store in summer 2027.
