Maverick Games has announced Clutch, an open-world action-driving game due in spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. The game combines circuit racing, underground chases, and a story-driven campaign centered on two sibling racers, set in a shared PvPvE world where position, reputation, and rewards all matter.

The studio is led by Mike Brown, formerly creative director on Forza Horizon, and the project is built around a mix of hand-crafted and spontaneous missions and races. Vehicle customization and a proprietary physics engine are also part of the pitch, with the goal of making each car feel distinct through both performance and visual identity.
The story is framed around the R1K, a long-running racing series, and the Midnight Collective, an underground scene tied to style, speed, and high-risk escapes. That setup suggests a structure built on shifting alliances, rival crews, and pursuits that move between sanctioned competition and more chaotic action-driving scenarios.
A deeper look at the story, cast, world, and stakes is scheduled for the Summer Game Fest 2026 Live Kickoff on June 5. For now, the announcement trailer and first screenshots offer the first clear look at the game’s tone and driving-action structure.
