TOEM 2 will launch on September 29, 2026 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, almost five years after the release of TOEM: A Photo Adventure. Something We Made and co-publisher popagenda confirmed the date with a new trailer, bringing photography, relaxed exploration, and small character-driven encounters back to the center of the journey. The sequel is designed to welcome both returning photographers and players discovering the series for the first time.

The adventure once again sends players out with a camera and a pair of walking shoes to document mysterious events known as TOEMs. New cozy environments can be explored by running, jumping, and climbing, with hidden paths, scenic viewpoints, and small details rewarding anyone who wanders away from the most obvious route. The official website for TOEM 2 presents a world built around curiosity rather than constant pressure to reach the next objective.
Photography remains the main tool, but the camera now supports new attachments that allow it to solve problems in less conventional ways. Taking pictures will still reveal secrets, complete puzzles, and document discoveries, while the added equipment creates different interactions across each region. The trip will also introduce a new cast of unusual characters and adorable creatures, with opportunities to help them, build friendships, and expand the critter compendium.
The journal tracks progress through stamps earned from quests, discoveries, and photographed wildlife. Those stamps also provide access to later regions, connecting free exploration with advancement without adding time limits or strict completion requirements. Players can stop to listen to music on a bench, admire the scenery, or continue at their own pace. The main journey is expected to take around three to four hours, keeping the sequel compact while leaving room for optional wandering and smaller moments.
The original TOEM is also available at a 90 percent discount on Steam and PlayStation 5 as part of the announcement. The promotion offers a cheaper way to experience the first photo adventure before the sequel arrives, while TOEM 2 expands the formula with broader movement, upgraded camera tools, and fresh environments designed to reward careful observation.
