Hellheart Breaker is coming to PC and consoles in 2027 with a mix of action, dungeon crawling, roguelite progression, and dating sim mechanics. Developed by Cuisineer studio BattleBrew Productions and published by Red Dunes Games, the game takes players into an Asian-inspired Underworld filled with neon, smoke, rival clans, and characters who can become allies, romantic partners, or bosses standing in the way.
The journey begins inside a forgotten room in a bathhouse. The protagonist wakes up without any memories and becomes a new resident of Aashraya, the last remaining city in the Underworld, while an ominous prophecy hangs over their future. Recovering that lost identity becomes the driving force behind an adventure spanning seven worlds and seven clans, each with its own beliefs, ambitions, and powers.
Relationships have a direct impact on gameplay. Dating the Clan Scions allows the protagonist to learn their abilities and elemental powers, while rejecting their beliefs can eventually turn them into enemies. Romance is therefore more than a separate dialogue system: building a connection with someone can provide new tools for future runs, while taking another path may lead directly into a boss encounter.
The action side includes 35 weapons, ranging from jian swords to katar blades, alongside seven elemental skill trees and Augments that modify acquired abilities. Procedurally generated roguelite elements shape the repeated journey through the Underworld, while character customization and different outfits add another layer of personalization.
Aashraya also offers quieter activities between dangerous runs. Players can decorate their home, go fishing, and visit the Kappa Market for food-related activities. The wider cast includes a Naga princess, Oni blacksmith, Kitsune courtesan, and Asuran enforcer, each carrying personal struggles and ambitions. Bonds can grow into friendships, rivalries, or romances, while larger decisions influence the future of the city itself. With nine endings currently planned, Hellheart Breaker ties combat, relationships, and player choice into the same progression loop.
