Donkey Kong 64 is coming to the Nintendo 64 catalog on Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on June 3. Access is tied to the Expansion Pack tier, and the game remains one of the most recognizable Nintendo 64 releases thanks to its mix of platforming, exploration, and collectible hunting.

The adventure sends Donkey Kong against K. Rool and the Kremlings in a campaign built around traversal, item collection, and minigames. The playable lineup includes DK, Diddy Kong, Tiny Kong, Lanky Kong, and Chunky Kong, each bringing different abilities and movement options to the journey through the game’s obstacle-filled areas.
In single-player, the goal is to recover the Golden Bananas and progress through stages that often require switching between characters to make use of their abilities. Local multiplayer adds competitive split-screen battle arenas for up to four players; additional accessories may be required for multiplayer and sold separately.
For Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, this is a straightforward catalog addition that expands the Nintendo 64 lineup available through the Expansion Pack membership. The June 3 release also confirms availability on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 through Nintendo’s retro service.
As a result, the update adds a full-featured 3D platform-adventure with solo content and a separate competitive mode, making it a notable new option inside the subscription catalog.
