EXODUS will launch on April 7, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The science-fiction action adventure RPG from Archetype Entertainment, an Austin-based studio established as a division of Wizards of the Coast, is built around interstellar travel, hostile civilizations, companion-driven missions and choices that can echo far beyond a single objective.

Players take on the role of the Traveler, humanity’s last hope in a galaxy where people are no longer the dominant force. Earth is dying, and survival now depends on stealing alien weapons and technology from the Celestials, powerful beings who stand as humanity’s greatest enemy. Each mission is therefore both a raid and a gamble, pushing the Traveler into dangerous strongholds where better tools may be the only way to protect home.
The key idea behind EXODUS is time dilation. A mission near lightspeed might last only days for the Traveler, but years, decades or even centuries can pass for the people left behind. That turns every decision into something bigger than immediate success or failure. Returning home may mean facing changed families, altered relationships, old promises and consequences that have grown across generations while the Traveler remained almost untouched by time.
New material shown during Gamescom Opening Night Live also introduced more allies. Salt fights inside a specialized combat mech, using long-range sniping, quick evasive movement and ink-like smokescreens to confuse enemies. Emrys, a member of the Deva, plays a support role by launching Remnant Orbs that drain and weaken opponents while feeding stolen power back into Jun as protection.
With character customization, progression, combat style choices and companions who can have their own quest and romance paths, EXODUS is aiming for a cinematic RPG structure with player agency at its center. Players tracking it alongside other 2027 releases can use the Playority Calendar to save games to their account, receive notifications and keep personalized updates organized around dates, platforms and new details.
