Genigods: Nezha made its worldwide debut during Gamescom 2026 with its first global worldview trailer. The single-player hardcore action RPG from Genigods Lab is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox and PC, built on a deeply customized Unreal Engine 5 foundation and planned as a premium buy-to-play title for a future global launch.
The game reimagines ancient Chinese creation mythology through the Spirit Pearl, a primal life essence created by Goddess Nüwa and reincarnated as the legendary deity Nezha. The protagonist’s journey is built around three stages of evolution: a primitive porcelain vessel, the first mortal human and a transcended celestial warrior. That arc supports a wider reinterpretation of myths such as Kuafu Chasing the Sun and Yi Shooting the Nine Suns, with the solar mother goddess placed at the center of the narrative.
Combat is designed around a ground-air dual stance system built for mythic battles rather than grounded swordplay alone. Players can switch between terrestrial melee and full 3D aerial combat, moving across battlefields that stretch between earth and sky. The artifact system draws from Nezha’s classic imagery, including the Fire-Tipped Spear, Wind-Fire Wheels and Golden Brick, with full artifact sets unlocking the eight-armed celestial warrior form.
Genigods Lab is also pushing the game’s technical side through cinematic fluid simulation, dynamic weather, a day-night cycle, large-scale elemental effects and giant divine boss encounters. The studio is collaborating with the core production team behind the Ne Zha animated films for real-time fire, water, cloud and cosmic phenomena. During Gamescom 2026, from August 26 to 30, playable demos at official platform booths will feature artifact combat and giant boss battles.
