Laica has been announced for PC, with a Steam release scheduled for spring 2027. Developed by Santa Studio, a subsidiary of Santa Sunrise, and published by ambr, the first-person survival horror game pairs everyday life with a mysterious girl aboard a space station with expeditions into places inhabited by grotesque creatures. It is being built in Unreal Engine 5.

Players awaken in HOME, a habitat drifting through space, where they meet Laica. She has been living there alone, and getting to know her means sharing the small routines of life aboard the station. Conversations, meals, listening to music and short outings gradually bring the pair closer. Some moments take place in zero gravity, with the two floating together away from the dangers that await elsewhere.
Exploration introduces a very different side of this setting. An unknown force has distorted a facility that once housed people, leaving behind ruins that have become alien and dangerous. Players search these spaces, collect items and venture further into the darkness while confronting the creatures roaming inside. Each expedition is followed by a return to HOME and more time with Laica, with the story advancing through this repeated cycle of exploration and companionship.
That separation begins to break down as the journey continues. Anomalies appear within HOME, undermining the place players have relied on as a refuge and seeping into their life with Laica. Eventually, the same deterioration affecting the surrounding world begins to consume the girl herself.
The mystery centres on Laica’s identity, what happened in this isolated part of space and why the protagonist has ended up there. Building a relationship with her and exploring the transformed station will uncover the truth. What players choose to believe, along with the decisions they make, will determine how the story ends.
