Lightspeed Lina has been announced for PC via Steam, with no release date confirmed yet. The independent project from CornflowerBlue is a 3D action adventure platformer built around speed, launching alongside a Kickstarter campaign seeking $45,000 in funding. Its heroine fights, flies and races through a chain of nonlinear islands, using a special pair of boots to keep the movement closer to high-speed acrobatics than traditional stop-and-start platforming.

Lina “Lightspeed” Lockett is a former thief turned treasure hunter. Her latest opportunity begins when a spaceship is shot down and heart-shaped gems known locally as Comets start falling across the Ephemera Isles. Lina immediately sees a chance to make money by selling them, only for a pink alien and her old master to appear and complicate what initially looked like a straightforward hunt for profit.
Movement sits at the center of the game. The islands combine loops, ramps, dramatic drops, towns and routes designed to maintain momentum, while combat and exploration feed into the same responsive control system. Treasure is not simply collectible material either: some discoveries contain powerful moves that expand Lina’s moveset and open exploration options that were previously out of reach.
Spur Arts add another layer to progression. This alien technology grants new abilities that help Lina push further through the Ephemera Isles and uncover more of their secrets. The nonlinear areas vary in size and also include NPCs to meet, towns to visit and bosses to defeat. Character customization provides a lighter diversion, with outfits ranging from dresses and business clothes to playful mascot costumes.
