Team17 and French developer Saltitude have announced Little Prince Tyger, a dark fantasy action roguelike coming to PC through Steam in 2027. Players control a tiny hunter carrying a bow and arrows, fighting strange beasts across more than 1,000 handcrafted levels. Each stage fits onto a single screen, placing the emphasis on precise attacks and using the environment during combat.

The game takes its name from William Blake’s poem The Tyger and presents its adventure through low-resolution, two-dimensional visuals. The hunter’s journey begins with an assignment from the Queen, who asks him to find her missing son, Prince Galaad. Carrying out that mission means crossing a violent world where overcoming enemies involves both careful aim and an understanding of the physics governing each encounter.
Fluid simulation is part of that approach, alongside opportunities to manipulate the surroundings. Runs offer a range of perks that alter movement, bleed damage and the handling of arrows, including their weight and the speed of drawing the bow. Other abilities allow players to slow time or manipulate fluids, changing how they approach a fight. The starting weapon is not the only option, either: additional equipment includes javelins, boomerangs, throwing knives and traps.
Past memories introduce characters attempting to find their place within this harsh setting. Among them are Sauterelle, a kamanaï warrior who can share a meal with the hunter, Machiavelli, the kitchen garden’s keeper with a hidden past, and Dagaubert, a king with a generous heart. These encounters sit alongside the search for Galaad and the successive combat challenges.
