Warlock Turns Dungeons & Dragons Magic Into Systemic Action Gameplay

Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons has received an eight-minute gameplay reveal trailer, giving the first extended look at the third-person single-player action adventure from Invoke Studios and Wizards of the Coast. The game is planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, taking the Dungeons & Dragons license toward action, exploration and systemic magic.

The story follows Kaatri, a veteran weapons master who makes a pact to wield otherworldly power against dark forces. The trailer also introduces Tasha, who serves as Kaatri’s patron and source of power, teaching her to sense Raw Magic hidden throughout Darkon. Magic is not limited to damage. Each spell can open paths, create new options and change how the player reads the world.

The gameplay is built around observation, experimentation and timing. Kaatri can use enemy positioning, the environment and even the weather as tactical opportunities, chaining spells before following up with her combat skills. That gives exploration and combat the same underlying idea: look closely, understand the space and turn magic into a flexible tool rather than a fixed attack button.
