Raw Fury and Bytten Studio have announced Cassette Beasts 2002, the next installment in the creature-collecting series that began with Cassette Beasts. The game is in development for PC via Steam and Windows, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, with more details planned for the coming months. It is being positioned as a new journey for returning players, but also as an accessible entry point for anyone discovering this world of cassettes, transformations, and turn-based battles for the first time.

The main setting is Nodnol, a nostalgic tribute to 2000s London. In this world, humans and beasts collide while an occultist plot waits to be uncovered. The period gives the follow-up a stronger retro identity, linking the cassette-driven concept and early millennium atmosphere to an adventure built around exploration, mystery, and encounters with new creatures. Cassette Beasts 2002 keeps the spirit of the original idea while moving the series into a different place and cultural mood.
Combat once again revolves around recording monsters found in the field. Players will seek out beasts, record them, and transform into powerful forms during turn-based battles. The roster includes more than 250 beasts, including evolutionary lines, while the fusion system expands the possibilities even further with more than 50,000 fully animated fused forms. Preparing offensive attacks, support tools, utility moves, and elemental advantages will be important for taking down the toughest opponents.
Cassette Beasts 2002 also adds an adaptive edge through rogue monsters that can learn from player tactics, adjust their approach, and return with new challenges. Outside battle, the adventure will feature 12 companions to befriend or romance, each with personal stories, motivations, and quests. Stronger bonds with companions will help create more powerful beast forms. Multiplayer will include cassette trading, fighting alongside friends in random encounters, one-on-one battles with power scaling, timed objectives, and rewards. The result is a follow-up designed to expand the formula around collecting, recording, fusing, and battling without losing the central identity of Cassette Beasts.
