EverQuest Legends is a newly reimagined version of the classic EverQuest originally released in 1999. The goal is to bring back the magic, nostalgia, and identity of the original game while adding modern features and quality-of-life improvements. It keeps the classic art style, graphics, zones, spell effects, loot, and music from the early era of EverQuest, but reshapes the experience to be easier to approach today.

The biggest shift is its focus on solo and casual play. Groups of up to four players and raids of up to eight players will still be available, but the entire game can also be played and experienced alone. To support that structure, characters can become far more flexible than in the original design. Each character can select up to three active classes, combining the benefits, stats, spells, and abilities of different roles.

Gear customization also plays a major part. Weapons and armor can be upgraded up to +10, while focus, click, and proc effects can be swapped and combined across equipment. With 15 playable races and 560 possible class combinations, EverQuest Legends is built around giving players room to create powerful and unusual characters, whether they want to face difficult content alone or team up with a small group of friends.

At launch, the game will include Antonia content from the pre-Kunark era, along with all EverQuest playable races, including Iksar, Frogloks, and Kerran. The result is aimed at longtime players, returning veterans, and newcomers who want a more flexible way to discover Norrath without being locked into the strict pace of classic MMORPG play.
