The Relic: First Guardian Brings Dark Fantasy Soulslike Action in July

Perp Games and Project Cloud Games have announced that The Relic: First Guardian will launch on July 31 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2 versions will follow later this summer. The game is a dark fantasy soulslike action RPG set in a collapsed world, where exploration, boss battles, character growth, and environmental mysteries form the core of the adventure.

The story takes players to Arsiltus, a once-prosperous realm transformed into a land of death after the destruction of the great relic. The void created by that disaster has swallowed the world, leaving behind ruins, danger, and unanswered questions. Players take on the role of the last guardian, tasked with finding the pieces of the broken relic and closing the void before everything is lost for good.

The Relic: First Guardian is structured as a semi-open world action RPG, with free exploration and progression tied to discovering new areas. The journey through Arsiltus is not only about fighting. Players will also solve riddles, complete dungeons, defeat bosses, and collect relic pieces to restore the world closer to its former state. Its dark fantasy identity appears to combine apocalyptic atmosphere with a constant push toward recovery.

Combat will let players choose between five weapon types, each with unique skills and room for adaptation based on playstyle. Character growth does not use traditional levels. Instead, runes, items, and crafting are used to strengthen the protagonist, making preparation and equipment as important as skill during encounters. Completing dungeons and defeating bosses will also expand the world and increase the character’s potential, turning each victory into both a combat milestone and a step toward saving Arsiltus.
